Hello world!

I feel it is only appropriate to dedicate my first blog post to Pan American airlines, which I identify as the source for my passion both in travel and aviation.

In fact, both my parents worked for Pan Am: my mother as one of their flight attendants; my father 35 years with the company, whose career started as a flight crew member to become in a short period of time the youngest Pan Am General Director. As such they were transferred from their home base in New York to the Belgian Congo, Leopoldville. As a consequence of the raging civil war in that country, Pan Am provided housing for my mother back in New York for several months, awaiting my birth. When I was only 10 days old my mother and I flew back to the Congo to rejoin my father: from that moment on and for the next 20 odd years of my life, I had the privilege to be able to fly on what it’s considered to be one of the best airlines in the world. My heart was broken when, following the dramatic terrorist attack of Pan Am flight 103, over the skies of Lockerbie, Scotland, Pan American airlines officially closed their doors. I hope you enjoy the video!

This simple video was put together with photos of flight attendants, pilots, directors who had been a part of this legendary airline.
When you are watching, my father is in the group photo titled “The Africa Corps” the Africa based directors…he is the 5th one from the left behind the lady.
